Positive Planet is an animated series inspired by the ideas explored in author and journalist Michael Shellenberger’s book Apocalypse Never. It takes a clear-eyed look at some of the most alarming claims about the environment—examining what the evidence actually shows and making the case for a more hopeful view of humanity’s ability to solve difficult problems.

For the pilot, we explored predictions about climate change, natural disasters, rising sea levels, wildfires, and other environmental threats. The goal was not to dismiss genuine problems, but to put them into perspective and show how innovation, economic development, and human ingenuity have already helped make the world safer and more resilient.

Together developed the project independently and from the ground up, including writing, direction, visual development, character and production design, animation, and editing. We created a colorful, playful visual language that could make a data-heavy subject clear and entertaining without losing the seriousness of the ideas.
